Visited a detention centre handling 35,000 detainees annually; in this case, mostly young men awaiting judgments on deportation (or not) or those awaiting rulings on asylum claims.  None of them had been convicted of any crime nor were they detained for punishment reasons.  Heavy security.  Lots of barb/razor wire.  Zero photography allowed.

Then visited with Florence project staff; an NGO providing legal services to these detainees.  Ended the day with a visit to St. Xavier Mission
