Desert Wheatear

This beautiful bird was extremely curious and very keen to be photographed. He stood beautifully on this pebble making sure I had lots of different views of him. He's a very handsome young male and eventually he will have a completely black mask connecting with a broad black line onto his wings. He's very keen on caterpillars and as there were lots of little white butterflies, I presume he was doing well on his favourite food. As you can see his camouflage was just perfect for the pebbly beach and I think he knew his feathers were in prime condition.
