Lichen

This is growing on a hackberry. It is common enough and I think it may be Punctelia, maybe P. missouriensis. I am not very good at lichens although I have always thought them to be very interesting plants. I should treat myself to an identification kit one day and then I might be able to do a bit better.

We actually got 0.9 inches of rain in the last 24 hours which was very welcome. It is clearing now and will be pleasant enough for Hallowe'en. The next few days we are back into the 70s. We watched the rugby cup final this afternoon and this evening the fourth game of the World Series is on. We do not usually watch so much sport, but this is special!!
