This is a big hole I pass on the way to Tattie Club. In case there was any doubt, someone has painted Big Hole in big writing on one of the boards that were intended to guard the hole from intruders. I could speak of the metaphorical meanings of the hole for my life and today in particular, or I could just explain how it is the result of an aborted plan to build something very large, consequent on the current economic downturn, and has inadvertently become a beautiful wilderness and one of the largest green spaces in the area.
