Soul cakes

My two favourite people on the planet came to stay tonight with their mum. Talk consisted mainly of One Direction and their Birmingham concert.

So good to see them, and I got some Halloween decorations and a pumpkin to celebrate. I also made these soul cakes. The tradition dates back to medieval times when children went 'souling', going from house to house on 31 October and 1 November to get these cakes.  I thought it might be nice to celebrate the older traditions too!
