Mono monday TIME

The American watch companies - Elgin, Waltham, Hamilton etc, pioneered mass production using standard machined components.
They responded to the need and strict specifications demanded by the US railways which used single track lines with passing places.
This Deck watch is derived from these, and used to set the time from a ships master, then taken up on deck to time the sextant observations.
A horologist friend has achieved accuracy of a second in a month with one of these - pretty good for a mechanical watch.
Good timing.- was that a song also?
Many thanks to GoranZebuhr for hosting Mono Monday this month. The entries for this week can all be found here.
