Health leaders urge men to take action in November

Health leaders at East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are urging men in the area to take care of their health and watch out for the early warning signs of serious conditions such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems in the annual campaign Movember.

During November each year, thousands of men around the UK and the world grow moustaches to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer and male mental health.

Movember sees men growing their moustache for 30 days beginning clean shaven on 1 November. Men with their new moustaches (also known as Mo Bros) become walking, talking billboards for the often ignored issue of men’s health. The 2015 challenge is to MOVE every day of Movember – 30 MOVEs in 30 days, this could be a workout, walking 30 minutes to work, a game of tennis or a bike ride.
