On the Highland Trail

Whilst everyone in the rest of the UK seemed to be suffering from fog and dampness, it was a beautiful day once again up in the Highlands. We went for a drive up the coast to Ullapool amidst spectacular scenery and dramatic light. This shot is near Dundonnell looking towards some impressive Munros. (As far as I can tell from my map, the main Munro behind the clouds and bright light is "Sgurr nan Clach Geala"  for any Munro experts reading this!)
We had delicious fish and chips at Ullapool overlooking Loch Broome - see today's extra.

Having gloated about the glorious weather whilst the rest of the UK suffered travel disruption, we then returned to Inverness airport to discover that all Manchester flights were cancelled! One option offered to us was to take a taxi then plane from Glasgow at lunchtime the following day (no guarantee of further delays...).
Instead we ended up taking a rather long 366 mile or 6 hrs+ taxi ride to Manchester airport with two other unfortunate travellers - arriving just after 3 a.m! Time to catch up on sleep.
