A concrete love affair

The Curzon

1936 was a good year for cinema architecture in Leicestershire, Leicester's Athena was completed that year too. This, however, is Loughborough's wonderful art deco Odeon cinema, formally known by many names, but I will always call it The Curzon. Loughborough has two art deco beauties, the other is the Odeon of circa 1937, which is now a grade II listed bingo hall.
