Wine tasting

Bandol is known for its excellent wines so this morning we visited a couple of vineyards and of course had a little 'degustation'.

We went to 'Domaine Ray-Jane' first, at Le Plan du Castellet, as we bought wine from there when we were here last year. They have an interesting museum of old wine making equipment and tools for making barrels. This is where I spotted all these old Demijohns.

Then our next port of call was to 'Domaine et Chateau Pey Neuf' in St Cyr sur Mer. We took a slightly wrong turn to get there, and ended up in the old hilltop town of La Cadière d'Azur which was very pretty, but not ideal for cars due to the very narrow streets!

Anyway, we bought 20 litres of wine - 5 litres of Bandol rosé and 5 litres of Bandol white from each vineyard. That should keep us going for a little while!
