Theory

Who knew that colouring cow hats in fact constituted music theory?! (its a code, which she has to work out based on calculating the time signature of the bar's notes each animal is holding.... of course....)

She'd been extremely excited to go, charged in to her teacher's house with a grin, a bounce and at high speed showed her all the different things she'd wanted to show her. Including her new harmonica. She was delighted when Barbara dug in her drawer and pulled hers out and she showed Katie how to play a Cmajor scale on it. But once the lesson started, she lost the plot a little. She is so hard on herself when she isn't perfect at something, and she was tired. So tying her hands in knots a bit during one of her pieces and then making some loud squeaks with a new note in recorder was more than her little heart could take. She lay on the floor, not stropping or crying, just burying her head upset with herself. It didn't help that it's her last lesson til December as her teacher is away to India examining for a month, so Katie was a bit put out about that too.

I carried her home, buried in my shoulder and put her in a huge bubble bath. She snuggled reading a new book she started this morning and is on a mission to plough through. She fell asleep by 630 with Veggietales singing away to her.
