My Great Success Story

Ko Phi Phi

In the morning we caught a long boat from Railey east that took us to a larger ferry, heading for the island of Ko Phi Phi. It was a pretty busy ferry and, sitting down at the bottom, we ended up feeling pretty sea sick.

Ko Phi Phi was way more built up and hectic than the chilled out Railey. We booked a room from one of the many people waiting for us at the dock and then they put our bags on a cart and guided us through the streets of the town.

In the evening we went for a little walk around. I managaed to drag a reluctant Courtney to the viewing area at the highest point of the island, which is where I took this photo, looking down on the town. This was all completely destroyed in the tsunami in 2004, as you can see it's about sea level between two mountains, making a perfect path for the wave.
