Anatole's blips

The view south from the Nockberge

The great jagged wall to the south of us is the Karawanken mountains. It is possibly the longest mountain chain in Europe stretching 120kms all the way from Hungary to Switzerland and it separates Austria to the north from Slovenia and Italy to the South.

P.s. This is a panoramic shot of about 135º of view, hence the foreground distortion. This mist hangs over the great lakes of Ossiacher See and Milstätter See between the Karawanken and the Nockberge where we are standing. To the north of is we have the snowy peaks of the High Tauern - the eastern extent of the Alps.
