Gillipaw's Journal

An enjoyable evening at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow.  The 1940 Hitchcock film starring Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier has always been a favourite of mine, along with the novel by Daphne du Maurier.

The set was a bit unexpected, and cleverly adapted. to suit the different scenes. There were musicians on stage too, all part of the action.  Some sections weren't quite true to the text, and the production began once the De Winter's returned from Honeymoon, missing out quite a chunk of the start of the book.
