The wee silver camera

Has anyone seen the wee silver camera?

It turned up the other day after being missing for about a year. It was stuck away in the pocket of a seldom used little rucksack. It was unearthed when L looked it out for a school trip. This wee 7mp Lumix has outlived several other compacts we have had. It has no manual control over shutter speed or aperture and tends to default to maximum aperture for everything.. A physically small sensor and short 6mm lens (at the wide end) means that depth of field  is out of conttol other than by using a very close subject. Images are stored as jpg on the card, no raw option. Despite all that it seems to deliver a nice clean picture. The lens can zoom a wee bit too and it has a built in flash and macro mode which really works.
I grabbed it for the morning walk to Achaderry. It was very dull and I carried no external flash or tripod. I set it one third under to help with shutter speed and to retain some sky detail and forced the flash to come on. I am happy withthe result. The online reviews for the LZ7 are dated around early 2007 and I don't even see any on ebay. I better be careful with it.
