Professor Verene Shepherd addressing a conference on Memories of Slavery, which I had the honour of opening on behalf of the University. I was trying to send some tweets about the conference, and bloody autocorrect kept changing Verene to Between....

That is a truly magnificent headdress. The plenary speech was also very inspiring and I learned a lot. It was definitely set to be a really exciting conference, but unfortunately I couldn't stay.
