A crimson carpet of Acer leaves

The Acer tree at the bottom of our garden has decided summer is finally over and has shed a carpet of vivid coloured leaves overnight. Soon they will all be down, and sweeping will be necessary.
Usually Acers provide the last of the autumn colours.
