The Lonely Troupant

The Troupant or Lilac-breasted Rollers, are also known as "bird of the sun" in African lore. They get their English name from their distinctive courtship flight. This includes impressive  and fas, shallow dives from considerable elevations with a rolling or fast rocking motion. The flight is accompanied by accompanied by loud raucous calls.
