Boggy at Burnsall

It’s been a special day.

A leisurely start in our cafe (where we bought cake), followed by a new pair of glasses on order and a special dinner being chosen from Cook.  Tea and cake when we arrived home and then out to Burnsall to see if we could catch a break in the weather.

We could not.

Unfortunately, we missed the blue sky that we had in Ilkley and had the wettest walk for a long time.  It was also one of the shortest.  I’d been inspired by this view and fancied a walk up there at some point.  It fitted the bill for short, sweet and with another cafe!  I can see the potential for a lovely circular walk on a better weather day but that was enough to feel like we’d been out today and the view from the edge of the ridge was lovely despite the deluge.  The rain had eased for the last part of the walk and the wind picked up so we’d dried of enough to enjoy a cup of tea before heading home.

Cherubs On Horseback on arrival - a heavenly treat.  Feet up next.

One of the finest birthdays.
