Share and share alike

I'm sorry, but a blue banded bee (Amegilla cingulata) trumps Derelict Sunday every time.  Especially since this was taken in the front garden, and is probably about the third blue banded bee I've seen in our yard this year so far.  I didn't see even one last year, so I am delighted they are back again.

And that it chose to share this verbena bonariensis with a skipper is a bonus..  That I managed to get them both in the frame, and in focus is a miracle.

At the risk of sounding boring, blue banded bees are endemic to Australia, and some of the island further north - I think Vodka Man used to blip them from Indonesia.  Same bee but a different species.

They are solitary bees, and if you want to read more, go here.
