Pre heat oven to 190C & line two baking trays with non stick paper.
Put butter & sugars into a bowl & beat into yummy creaminess. Sieve the flour & bicarbonate of soda & salt & mix with a wooden spoon. The older the spoon, the better the mixing.
Use a tea spoon to put small mounds on the trays & bake for 10 mins max! Any longer & these cookies will look like they've been sunbathing for too long.
Let them cool & then fill your boots.

150g salted butter, softened
80g light brown muscovado sugar
80g granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 large free range egg
225g plain flour
Half tsp bicarbonate of soda
Quarter tsp salt
200g plain chic chips or chunks
