V&A

The V&A is hosting the excellent, inspiring & challenging "Fabric of India" exhibition (photography not allowed), so today's blip is from the museum, but not quite from the brilliant exhibition.

Amongst the many things we've found out today ... our dominance of mass-produced cloth in the industrial revolution devastated the livelihoods of millions in India. Khadi, a handspun and hand-woven cloth quickly became a symbol of the need for self-reliance and of the struggle for independence. All Indian flags are made from khadi and feature the spinning wheel in its design.

Extra pic, the stunning view in the cafe.
