Painted poppy

I'm not a fan of remembrance 'festivals' or increasing poppification of everything. I am a fan of these poppies, painted on the ground between Out of the Blue Drill Hall and Rosebank Cemetery in Leith - the route of the funeral procession of many of those who perished in the Quintinshill train disaster in May 1915.

Each poppy originally bore the first name of one of the 216 dead soldiers. Most of the names have now gone, some of the poppies are faded too, but if you look very closely at some, you can still make out a name. I find that apt.
