Tough Day!

Julie found us a walk in one of our walking guides. (Walk Mallorca - by Charles Davies). The aim was to clock up a few miles. This walk was only 12 miles long but given a strenuous rating of 4/5. The book described the walk as straightforward and mostly easy apart from one short section.

It began with a steep climb of over 2000 ft and as it was quite warm I ended up more sweaty than a sweaty thing on sweat day!! However we enjoyed some amazing views good paths and a flying display by a pair of griffin vultures.

This took us up to Lluc and we managed to walk past the bar without stopping and began to climb again up to a col - the highest point of our walk. We then had to negotiate two miles of scrambling over jagged rocks, more like a scramble than a walk.

Having safely negotiated this we then had to descend steeply down through dense overgrown forest. A machete would have been very useful.

All in all we were walking for over 7 hours.  The well deserved beer at the end went down very well!
