Board in Beijing

September 3, 2015: Day 3 of 14 of the China/ DPRK trip.  This day was a public holiday in China to celebrate 70 years since the end of the war with Japan (1937-1945).  Beijing staged a massive military parade and consequently most hotels were locked down until about 1 pm.  No one allowed to leave the hotels and many of the smaller hotels were simply shut down for 3 or 4 days prior to the parade.

This group are playing a board game in a public square next to the Bell Tower (or is it the Drum Tower .. they're next to one another.).  Both structures functioned as timepieces for the city of Beijing until 1924.

A couple for extra blips today of the military parade taken off the television or shot through the hotel window.
