Thankfully I managed to get out bed in time to catch the bus to work. After my shift, which was exhausting, I had to rush to get home as someone was coming to install a second smoke detector. I'd informed them that, because of the late notice, which I didn't find in my letter box until Friday evening, I hadn't been able to get time off in the morning but that I would definitely be home by 2pm. No one showed up though and I didn't find a new notice either.  Fortunately the day ended with a very nice sunset that I could photograph.
