We Will Remember Them

Just thirteen men are commemorated on this memorial. Thirteen men who fought and died in 'The Great War' - the War 'to end all Wars. They marched away bravely smiling and waving to family and friends never to return. Thirteen men may not sound that many when you consider how many men and women died across the World in that fierce and bloody conflict, but these thirteen men were the strongest and bravest men from a small Midlands village. Their future was snatched away from them, but the Village still remember their sacrifice and that of the men who followed them and fell in battle in World War II. Of course we shall never forget them... but when will we learn that War settles nothing and leaves so many families and futures in tatters?
