Happy Diwali

Or the Festival of Lights, for those of you who aren't up to speed on your Hindu holy days...

This was the scene that greeted us at the office this morning, with a hand-made flower petal decoration along with the requisite tinsel and balloons. And everyone was in traditional Indian costumes as well. There's just generally a happy atmosphere about the place.

Sorry the photo is a bit odd. I had to take it through the glass door, which we couldn't open fully as that would have swept away the flower petals. Yes, a bit of a design flaw but, hey, it's Diwali!

Shortly there will be firecrackers and general mayhem. There's lots to like about India.

The extra is of the imposing fellow who opens the door to my new hotel (which, you'll be delighted to hear, turns out to be MUCH nicer than the previous one).
