Sunbeams

Garden visitors

These three pheasants make a colourful group against the hedge.  They were very large and fat, survivors, will they be lucky again this year ....

Contemplated a quiet couple of minutes in the supermarket about the nine people of our family, some civilians, who lost their lives during the wars, and of the two young people from our area who were killed in Bosnia and Iraq.  I was in the supermarket last year too.

A siren ended the silence which reminded me of living in Weymouth when the siren sounded daily at midday, a left over from the war.  The midday alert also reminded me of living in Cape Town when a canon was fired every midday.  Why is midday so important?
