Remembering My Dad.

My Dad didn't die in the war, but he died at the age of 56, as a consequence of the war.

My Dad was an aircraft fitter in the RAF.  He was with some of the first troops to enter Nagasaki, after the atomic bomb was dropped.

Of course, in those days, they had no idea of the consequence of the radiation fallout.  So of course none of these troops had any protective gear.

He died of a rare form of lung cancer, which the doctors said they hadn't seen before.  I wonder how many others have died the same way.

Lest We Forget.
