  Before pupating, they spend up to 2 days head-down in a 'J' position on a leaf with their anal prologs attached to a silken pad.
 
Tomorrow I will have another chrysalis, this time it is attached to the underside of a leaf.
 
For those of you looking for the first time, this is the caterpillar of either the Red or Yellow Admiral butterfly – a native of NZ.
