Old Bridge, Glenton

This old bridge across the River Don, about half way along the Lord's Throat between the settlements of Tilliefoure and Glenton, had its timber deck removed by the local laird about 10 years ago as a health and safety measure. (I can recall crossing it once or twice before this happened, never 100% sure if the next crosstimber was sound or likely to crack...)

Apart from a few old relics of timber, only the steel girders now remain, each with the original British Steel logo and 'Appleby-Frodingham England' repeated continuously across the span.
