Leith Walk - The shutter project

Over the last few days a young man has been spray painting a shutter on a shop quite publicly. He is, from discussion, Jamie Johnson one of half a dozen local artists commissioned to use the shop shutters as after hours blank canvases.

The image is a blend of early super mario and sonic the hedgehog. The shop Gamesmasters is where Jamie first purchased video games 15 years ago and has remained a regular customer.

I think it adds both a vibrancy and a little humour to the street.

The plan is for one new shutter to be released, on Leith Walk, each month through to November, keep an eye out for them.
