Capturing my Journey

By thedoglady

Here they come

The sun appearing after a heavy squall on the dog walk. Had to put out surplus calves out to the fields from the shed as we are out of bedding straw we ordered some in August and they still havent delivered it even with being reminded. We put halters on Hamish and Callum the two bullocks that are going to be pets on kirtlington golf course. Today we quietly led them round the pen teaching them to "follow the feel" so come towards the pressure on the rope so it is released. We will spend the next 10days minimum of 3 times a day walking them, combing them and generally just quietening them down and getting used to be handled. Its much like you do with horses but my first time with a calf.

Put a bale of silage out to the breeding cows that marks the beginning of winter feeding. Caught up on housework and made a chocolate cake too. Also put spare rug on tango as she has already ripped off a strap. Waiting for the rug to dry before stitching a replacement on. She is so hard on her rugs.

7c 10mph S sunshine and squally, haily showers.

Extra is Hamish and I making friends which is a screenshot from a video so too small to be main picture.
