Monday: Coffee Time

I had a meeting in town today at this cafe.  It wasn't until I uploaded the photo that I noticed the slightly odd couple peering out of the window.  They seem to have quite large heads....

This was taken just before mid-day.  At 1200, the sirens, which aren't normally used, sounded and the city held a one minute's silence for Friday's attacks.  It was very odd to see everyone standing so quietly (although there were still one of two chatterers at the coffee tables who didn't realise what was happening).  Even the trams stopped.

We also had a heightened security presence at work, with a lot of police on guard outside the office.  It probably isn't necessary here - it being so safe - but, nonetheless, it was a stark reminder.
