Biscuit or Cake?

Philosophers have been debating this question for decades - are these biscuits or cakes? Well, I found them in the biscuit aisle at the supermarket. They are wrapped in a plastic sleeve and placed inside a cardboard box. However, they don't 'snap' like a biscuit when you break them in two.
According to 'QI' the definitive way to distinguish between a biscuit and a cake is to leave them until they go stale. A biscuit goes soft when it is left, but a cake goes hard. The only problem with that is they never last long enough in this house to put them to the test!
