If you can't beat them...

Cyclamen persicum "Fleur en Vogue"

When we were down at Great Haywood for the boat syndicate meeting the farm shop was selling some plants, it is after all on a nursery.  Among those plants was a cyclamen the like of which I had never seen before.  There was no conventional label merely the words Fleur en Vogue on the plastic pot.

It was a fascinating flower for a cyclamen, firstly it is double as you can see small petals outside the large ones.   Unlike the usual cyclamen the petals do not rise up past the horizontal, they stand out horizontally. This gives a flower about three inches across from petal tip to tip.  Because of this structure it would appear they are also sometimes known as "Umbrella Cyclamen".

A busy wet day so I thought it was the cyclamens turn for blip it has waited long enough.
