Common Enchantments

A sad heart

This is my favorite swing that was at our local park.  The view used to be the pond but now this is the view.  Over 20 inches of rain fell in a 24 hours period  on top of a week of heavy showers to cause a tremendous flood of water in Lexington on October 4 and 5.  Due to the flood of water from a burst dam upstream, the dam holding back this pond also burst, which sent the torrent of water downstream to destroy another dam that was near  Main Street of Lexington.

This was my first visit here  to see the area since I returned home from Colorado.

Unfortunately rain poured for 5 days the first week of November.  The water flowing through this area was enough to again flood the lowest area below the third dam as the creeks and rivers were again cresting at flood stage.   But nothing happened that was as devastating as this.

There is no stopping massive amounts of water..it will go where it will go taking everything in its path.
