Another Emergency Blip!

The good news - the new Plumber and builder came today and started completing the remaining jobs in my kitchen/utility room project. They got quite a bit done - several small jobs and they also installed the new toilet in the utility room!  Yea!  They couldn't do the water softener yet as there was a problem locating my external water shut off valve. It appears to be covered by my neighbour's lawn and a large tree!  So Thames Water needs to come out and dig it out. But it's just good to get closer to completion.

In other news -  it poured with rain much of today - and then the wind started - 'Storm Barney' brought winds up to 85mph in some parts of the UK, and some homes are now without power.

Dolly wasn't really interested in a walk during the day - who can blame her?  But she had a routine visit to the vet this evening for her annual jabs and check-up. The vet thinks she has some arthritis in her hips as she showed obvious pain there when she was examined. That probably explains her diminishing desire for walks. We discussed some options for treatment which should help a great deal. The vet still says she's amazing for her age!  (16)

Once we got home Dolly nagged and nagged for her walk and so we finally went around the village just before bedtime. It was dry and warm, though very windy. Nothing like blowing the cobwebs away!  It actually felt quite good!

We walked through the station which provided an appropriate last-minute emergency blip!  The signs hanging down from the roof were flapping about in the wind as were poor Dolly's ears!  Thank goodness she was on her lead, she could have been blown away!
