Florence from Above

Had an incredible day in Florence which was only an hour's drive away. We climbed up to Michelangelo's Plaza and a hilltop church first of all where I caught this shot of the city. Mum and I split apart from RF and SW to take it all in. We found a most beautiful church- the Santa Maria Novella with incredible works of art on the ceiling inside and went on to window shop across the Ponte Vecchio. Unfortunately I picked the wrong day to wear shorts and was barred entry to the iconic cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Il Duomo), yet we made up for this by tracking down Michelangelo's David in the Galleria dell'Accademia. He did take a while to find though, it's almost as if they don't want you to know he's there!
