World Toilet Day

Today is World Toilet Day!
It was estimated in 2015 that about 1 out of 3 people lack access to decent sanitation.
Just under 1 billion have no access to a toilet.
In 2013, more than 340,000 children under 5 died from water, sanitation and hygiene related diarrhea. That's nearly 1,000 child deaths a day.
Providing access to basic toilets decreases disease twice as much as access to clean drinking water.
Last year my colleagues at work pledged to twin workplace toilets, linking loos with latrines! Some places, like Bathgate in Scotland are completely toilet-twinned towns.
