One of those days when the sun hides for a while then pops out and surprises everyone. Either way it was nice to get out and feel the sun when it came. All was calm on the Island with the views over to Clodgy Point as spellbinding as ever. This view is from the old gun emplacements at the top of The Island. Hard to believe the war ever came to St.Ives. As a boy I remember the bullet holes in the cinema ceiling and stories of heroic bravery when men climbed the old gas holder to stop it exploding during an air raid. Thankfully these days the nearest we get to an air raid is having our food snatched by a cunning gull.
