Friday with Ernest and Frank

Those, of course, being Ernest Shackleton and Frank Hurley.

Got the chance to go to a preview day for a fantastic new exhibition of images taken by Frank Hurley on Shackleton's Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition in 1915.  The main expedition didn't get far across the Antarctic - but the survival story is the stuff of Antarctic legend.

The exhibition, called Enduring Eye, has been arranged jointly by the Royal Geographical Society and the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust - it's open in London (at the RGS) from tomorrow until the end of February.  After that it's due to go on tour in the UK then internationally.

Well worth a visit.
