Charity Calendar

Some time ago I signed up to help out with a local charity to promote breastfeeding in Salford. A local social enterprise had done some research into why Salford has one of the lowest breastfeeding rates in the country. They found out that one of the biggest concerns among new mums was how they were going to feed their baby when they were out and about. Many said they would feel too uncomfortable to breastfeed in public and so went down the bottle route. I thought this was such a shame, so decided to get involved with their project to try and show breastfeeding in public is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. They were compiling a 'calendar girls' style calendar of women feeding their babies at various well known Salford landmarks. So here is our shot at Salford Lads Club. Obviously I didn't take it so it's a bit of a cheat but I do love the photo! Not sure who would particularly want a breastfeeding calendar but hopefully it will inspire confidence in some new mums to be bold and feed their babies wherever the hell they like!
