Red Hot Poker with Salad

This small red hot poker surprised me by coming up under the big fir trees. I have some big clumps in the garden, but they flower late summer. The bright green in the background is part of a large patch of self-sown miner’s lettuce, which has provided me with plenty of salad greens.
