Sitta europaea

I had fairly high hopes this weekend, photography-wise, due to the frosty/sunny weather forecast. However, the bitterly cold, strong winds yesterday and the short-lived sunny start today following a late night put paid to my (albeit vague) plans. However, while we were eating our late lunch/early dinner this afternoon a pair of nuthatches paid the bird feeding station a visit so I ran to the study, grabbed my camera and took a few shots in the poor light, through the dirty window. Such sweet little birds and, like the wagtails last weekend, I hope they come back again.
