"No public business of any kind could possibly be done at any time without the acquiescence of the Circumlocution Office. Its finger was in the largest public pie, and in the smallest public tart." ~ Little Dorrit - Charles Dickens

Long shadows as the sun starts to disappear and it's only three o'clock.  A day spent sorting and organising several years worth of official personal legal documents and papers - finance, insurance, employment,  etc. The kind you dare not throw away but don't know where or how to keep in such a way that you will ever find them again, so they just sit there all piled up and staring at you when ever you open the box.   It all started with the search for one particular document and I got sucked in to finally sorting the  whole rainforest's worth of papers that have just all sat there in that box - my very own circumlocution office - since moving in the summer of 2014.  It was a Dickens of a job.

"The one great principle of the English law is to make business for itself. There is no other principle distinctly, certainly, and consistently maintained through all its narrow turnings." ~ Bleak House - Charles dickens
