Monarch Caterpillar

This was spotted near a crowded thoroughfare on the Google campus in Mountain View California.  They were growing Milkweed, amongst other native plants in a small strip next to the sidewalk.  Once we saw this, then we saw several butterflies, then we saw the pupa (extra photo).
