Heading south

I drove off in the morning heading south for a couple of days off. I chose the old highway for a part of the journey and missed one crossing (they've changed the crossings after the traffic moved to the new motorway and I haven't driven there that much in a decade or two) and ended up having a little break by the church and cemetery in Sääksmäki. A beautiful medieval stone church and it had just started to snow, so it was quite picturesque there.

I drove on to Helsinki, called an old friend and we had a cup of coffee at the Viikki campus where he works and we both studied way back when it still was a little island of countryside inside the city. It has changed quite a lot, but the university farm is still there.

Next stop was city centre, an exhibition at the gallery of Helsinki Camera Club, dinner at Restaurant Zetor (in the extra #1, recommended, if you want to see a restaurant like no other, and their menu is translated into 22 languages) and a little photo walk around the centre. The Parliament is being renovated and has a huge tent covering it (in the extra #2, with lights on at dusk).
