Just Chillin'

Made the most of our last day on the cruise with a swim in the Caribbean, snorkelling with the turtles [the oversized "tortoises" not the 60's pop group].  Had a leisurely swim for an hour or so - saw half a dozen turtles and some really weird shaped fish, then a short spell on the beach waiting for our taxi back to the ship.  Time passed so quickly we were late getting ashore and missed our pre-arranged taxi pick-up time.  No worries, the guy at the beach said, your taxi will be back in about half an hour for you.

After lunch back on board we were hanging out in the buffet restaurant with R & R, and T & R, whiling away the hour or so before departure for the airport.  It got quieter and quieter as others left for earlier flights, ours was the last departure.  When one of the waiters approached us and asked if we wanted a wine package we began to suspect something.  R headed off to the Broadway Lounge, returning immediately to say it was empty!   Thinking he was winding us up we followed and sure enough, it was empty!

Hasty exit to the gangway ashore to find the airport bus.  Fortunately there was one, and soon after a few more worried passengers appeared, also thinking they'd missed the bus.  Only half an hour late leaving so no worries!  Ended the holiday as we'd started, queuing in the traffic out of town - there was some sort of rally going on ahead so the driver took a detour through the less pretty route to get us to the airport on time.

At Grantley Adams airport [wonder if he's any relation to K?] with enough time to get a couple of bottles of rum from duty-free before our "Dreamliner" departure for sunny Gatwick.  We traded 30 degrees in Barbados for minus 3 in Gatwick!  Car covered in thick frost and it took 20 minutes to defrost and get on our way home. Welcome Home!
